Installation
Is my TV suitable for a Pedestal?
Pedestal TV stands are universal and follow the VESA standard. Therefore, a Pedestal TV stand will work with all regular TV brands on the market, as they are VESA compatible.
VESA is an international standard for the mounting holes on the back of your TV. So, it's important to check if your TV is VESA compatible before making a purchase. Please see our short guide and find out if your TV is suitable for a Pedestal.
How will I find out if my TV is VESA compatible?
VESA stands for "Video Electronics Standards Association", which is an organization that develops technical standards for products such as TVs. Briefly put, it is an international standard for the mounting holes on the reverse side of your TV.
You can check under the specifications on the brand or dealer site for your TV to see if your TV is VESA compatible.
Please look up the specific model either in the instructions manual, on the company page or at the place you bought the TV. Look under specifications for VESA compatibility.
VESA compatibility, for example, can also be written as 100x100 up to 400x400 mm.
If your VESA holes are 600 mm in width and 400 mm in height, or less, your TV is suited for Pedestal TV stands.
The one exception is the Moon Light, which fits VESA patterns of 400 x 200 mm or less, so check your screen's VESA size before choosing it.
How do I measure the VESA size of my TV?
Please see our short guide on how to measure the VESA size of your TV in 30 seconds:
How big can my TV be?
Our TV stands support screens from 32" to 75", depending on the model. Please refer to the technical specifications for each TV stand to see details on the maximum and minimum screen size.
If your screen is outside the sizes we publish for the stand, it is outside our recommendations and we can't promise it will fit. Write to na@pedestal.com with your TV model and we'll tell you what's possible.
Which TV stand should I choose?
Start with your screen size, then choose based on how high you want the TV.
For screens of 32" to 48", Moon Light and Viva are the obvious ones. For 50" to 60", Moon is our best-selling stand and what most people end up with. For 55" to 70", Moon Tall gives you about 6 inches more height. If your screen goes all the way up to 75", Moon PRO is the only one that reaches.
If you'd like something outside the Moon family, Viva, Rover, Disco and Bloom all take screens from 40" to 70". Rover has a built-in shelf, and Bloom is the only one that also takes screens without VESA holes.
If you're unsure, email na@pedestal.com with your TV model and we'll find the right one with you.
Is there a Pedestal TV stand for a 32" TV?
Yes, our Moon Light is designed for screens between 32" and 48", making it the best match for a 32" TV. It is also possible to use our Viva TV stand with a 32" TV. However, we cannot guarantee that parts of the stand's mounting area will not be visible above or below the TV, depending on the placement of the mounting holes on the specific TV model.
Which Moon TV stand should I choose?
We offer Moon TV stands for screens ranging from 32" to 75". Moon Light is recommended for screens between 32" and 48". Moon is recommended for screens between 44" and 60". Moon Tall is recommended for screens between 55" and 70", and Moon PRO reaches up to 75". If your TV is between 55" and 60", you can use either the Moon or the Moon Tall, it's just a matter of preference.
What is the recommended TV size for Viva?
Viva supports screens from 32" to 70". Some smaller screens may require an M4 screw instead of the M6 or M8 screws provided in the VESA mounting kit. Check your screen's documentation for VESA configuration and screw size details. M4 screws are not included with Viva but can be easily purchased at a hardware store, online, or where you bought your screen. Please note that our selection of Mounts and Shelves is not compatible with Viva.
Where will my TV be placed on a Pedestal TV stand?
The height of your screen, when mounted on the stand, depends on your screen's VESA specification. You can easily measure the distance with our quick video guide. Please see height specifications under the product you are interested in.
Please note that the screen height may vary by up to about 3 inches (7 cm) depending on the model of the stand.
The purpose of the video guide is to provide an estimate of the screen height in the highest mounting position. For a more precise measurement, subtract about 1 inch (2 cm) for Viva and about 3 inches (7 cm) for Moon, Moon Light, Moon Tall and Moon PRO.
How high will my TV sit?
The TV hangs on two brackets that mount onto the perforated rail, and you decide how high up the rail they sit. The top hole is about 3 inches (7 cm) below the top of the frame.
Where the bottom edge of the screen ends up therefore depends on your own TV: measure the distance from the top VESA hole down to the bottom edge of the screen. That's how much lower than the bracket the screen will sit.
Bear in mind that more than half the screen hangs above the mounting point. A TV will usually extend above the frame of the stand, and that's completely normal.
Bloom is the exception: there the screen rests in straps at a fixed height of about 12 inches (31 cm) from the floor.
Is Samsung The Frame TV compatible with a Pedestal TV stand?
Yes, Samsung The Frame is VESA compatible and can therefore be used with all Pedestal TV stands. The exception is the 32" version. It doesn't have standard VESA holes, so it needs a VESA adapter plate made for The Frame 32", for example the MonLines V071, which gives the TV a standard 200 x 200 mm VESA pattern. We don't sell the adapter ourselves, but it's widely available online. With the adapter fitted the TV mounts as normal, and at 32" we recommend Moon Light (32 to 48") and Viva (32 to 70"). For the Samsung One Connect Box we recommend using our Box Mount. Note that the Box Mount doesn't fit the Viva, so if you want the box mounted on the stand itself, choose Moon Light.
How do I assemble my Pedestal TV stand?
All Pedestal TV stands come with detailed assembly instructions, as well as the necessary bolts and tools. Our products are designed to be easy to assemble, and we place great emphasis on providing clear, step-by-step guidance. If your instructions are missing or misplaced, you can always find them online here.
What do I do if my TV doesn't fit the TV stand I bought?
In the unlikely event that your TV doesn't fit our TV stand, you can email us at na@pedestal.com enclosing some photos of the issue. Our TV stands are universal, but in extraordinary cases, a Pedestal TV stand may not be compatible with a specific TV. On a case-by-case basis, we assess whether it is possible to optimize the installation, whether a different Pedestal TV stand would be a better match or whether, unfortunately, it is simply not possible to fit the TV in question.
The bolts supplied do not fit my TV. What do I do?
If the bolts provided are too long, it will help to use the large plastic spacers that are included in our mounting kit. You won't make the TV stand unstable by adding more spacers, so simply add as many as needed.
In the rare case the bolts provided are too big or too small in diameter to fit in the mounting holes on your TV, don't panic. The bolts are standard. Simply grab the bolts from the mounting kit and take them to the local hardware store and ask for a smaller or bigger one.
Our mounting kit is universal and has been tested to fit 95% of all TV models.
My TV is uneven at the back, can I still fit a Pedestal TV stand on it?
If your TV is still VESA compatible, then you can use a Pedestal TV stand even though the back of your TV is uneven. You will probably need to use more plastic spacers to equalize the unevenness. The plastic spacers are provided in the mounting kit.
TV Stands
Can you adjust the height of Pedestal TV stands?
The stand itself has a fixed height, but you decide where the screen sits. The TV hangs on two brackets that mount onto the perforated rail, and you choose how high up the rail they go.
The exception is Bloom, where the screen rests in straps at a fixed height.
How much weight can you place on a Pedestal TV stand?
Our TV stands have been tested to 110 lbs (50 kg), which is our recommended maximum load. For Disco and Moon Light it is 88 lbs (40 kg). See each product's specifications.
What's the best practice for fitting a TV to angled Pedestal TV stands?
We recommend placing the TV as high up as the TV stand itself and the VESA mounting holes allow, so as to obtain the best angle to watch from a sofa.
Why do my TV stand and accessories look slightly different in color?
Slight color differences may occur between TV stands, Mounts and Power products even though they have the same color name, for example Mossy Green or Ultra Marine. This is not a defect but is due to differences in materials and surface treatments.
Can you assemble the Moon PRO Pedestal TV stand without the shelf?
No, it is not possible to assemble the Moon PRO model without fitting the shelf supplied.
Is it easy to lift a Pedestal TV stand?
Pedestal TV stands weigh between 13 and 35 lbs (6 to 16 kg) and are designed to be stable, yet simple to move around in your home. If it is likely you will need to move your TV stand regularly, we recommend buying a Pedestal TV stand on wheels.
Are Pedestal TV stands stable? I'm afraid my child could knock it over.
Pedestal TV stands are designed with the emphasis on stability. It takes a lot to knock over a Pedestal TV stand bearing a screen, and this isn't an issue we've encountered in connection with ordinary use in a home where there are young children.
Can you fit wheels to all Pedestal TV stands?
No, unfortunately not. Only the models that come with pre-installed wheels support this feature. You can't simply add wheels to a fixed TV stand.
Can you lock the wheels on Pedestal TV stands on wheels?
Wheels with brakes aren't included as standard, but can be bought separately. The set comes in Charcoal. On the Moon PRO, two of the four wheels have brakes from the outset.
Are the wheels safe for wooden or delicate floors?
Yes, our wheels are high-quality furniture casters with a soft PU tread, designed to be gentle on wooden floors, parquet and other delicate surfaces. They're intended for indoor use and will not leave marks under normal conditions.
Accessories
There's no room to fit accessories behind my Pedestal TV stand. What should I do?
Check that you have fitted your TV correctly to your Pedestal TV stand using the spacers supplied, which prevent the TV from touching the brackets. There needs to be a gap of more than 1/8 inch (3 mm) between the TV stand and the screen for you to be able to use our Mounts. If you have any doubts, you can email photos of the situation to our customer service at na@pedestal.com.
Which Pedestal TV stands can you buy shelves for?
You can buy a shelf for Moon, Moon Tall and Moon Light.
Rover has a built-in shelf and Moon PRO comes with its own. Both are fixed and cannot be removed. Viva and Bloom don't take a shelf.
How much weight can you put on a Pedestal TV stand shelf?
Our TV stand shelves can support a maximum of 17 lbs (8 kg).
Can I fit a Moon Shelf on a Pedestal Moon?
Yes, the Moon Shelf fits the Moon and Moon Tall.
Note that depending on the size of your TV and the placement of the mounting holes, there will on some occasions not be enough space to fit the shelf. Please use our short guide to determine the highest possible mounting placement of your screen and with that the space under the screen.
How can I fit my soundbar on a Pedestal TV stand?
You have two options to fit a soundbar on a Pedestal TV stand. Either use our Soundbar Bracket Set or a shelf, which we supply for a range of TV stands. In the same way as our TV stands, the Soundbar Bracket is a universal fitting, so it suits the most common types of installation. Check whether the mounting holes are on the rear or the bottom of your soundbar. The set includes angle brackets for soundbars with mounting holes on the bottom. Please note that we do not include mounting screws for your soundbar, as different models use different screws. These are generally supplied together with your soundbar. If you have lost them, you can buy replacements from the manufacturer or from any well-stocked hardware store.
Can I use my own soundbar fittings?
In some cases, yes. In others, no. We recommend that you give it a try, but if that doesn't provide a satisfactory result, you can buy our Soundbar Bracket Set instead.
Do all Mounts fit all Pedestal TV stands?
Yes, with the exception of the Viva and Bloom models.
Can I use Mounts for TV stands other than Pedestal?
No, our Mounts are designed specifically for Pedestal TV stands.
What do I do with my TV box?
We supply a variety of accessories for fitting different TV boxes to Pedestal TV stands. For example, fitting our Box Mount solutions using the bracket and Velcro strap supplied makes it possible to mount various TV boxes to the rear of Pedestal TV stands. Depending on the size of the box, a shelf may be a good solution, too. We supply shelves for a range of Pedestal TV stands.
Where can I keep my Apple TV?
Our Apple TV Mount or Apple TV 4K Mount makes it simple to fit your Apple TV to the reverse side of the stand, or on a bar on the front of a Pedestal TV stand. For a different effect, you can also place your Apple TV on a shelf, which you can buy as an optional extra for various Pedestal TV stands.
Does the Soundbar bracket fit all Pedestal TV stands?
Our Soundbar Bracket Set is compatible with all our Pedestal TV stands except for the Bloom TV stand. Please note that our Moon models have a limit due to the design. Depending on the size of your TV and the placement of the mounting holes, there will on some occasions not be enough space to fit the Soundbar Brackets and the actual soundbar. Please use our short guide to determine the highest possible mounting placement of your screen and with that the space under the screen.
How do I mount my PlayStation?
If you have a PlayStation 5, we recommend either our PS5 Mount or PS5 Slim Mount, depending on your model. You can use our PS5 Mount with the Digital, Disc and Pro models. If you have a PlayStation Slim, we recommend our PS5 Slim Mount, and if you own a PlayStation 4, we suggest our Box Mount. Please note that if you have the Disc version, the Velcro straps will cover the disc slot. You can also choose a compatible shelf option, which we offer for a variety of TV stands.
How do I mount my Xbox?
If you have an Xbox, you can use our Box Mount. Please note that if you have a disc version, the Velcro ties will cover the opening. You can also choose a shelf, which we supply for a range of TV stands.
How do I mount my Nintendo Switch?
If you have a Nintendo Switch, we recommend our Nintendo Switch Mount and Nintendo Switch 2 Mount.
Which accessories do you recommend?
Two things make most of the difference: the Hook Mount, our best-selling accessory, keeps remotes, headphones and controllers off the floor, and the Cable Bagel gathers the cables so they don't trail.
Then add a mount for whatever you actually own: Box Mount for a TV box, router or Samsung One Connect, PS5 Mount or PS5 Slim Mount, Nintendo Switch Mount and Nintendo Switch 2 Mount, Apple TV 4K Mount, Controller Mount, Remote Box Mount and the Soundbar Bracket Set.
